We have the ‘NAC’ for this
HIRO’s Neuro Art Collective (NAC) is a client driven collective of artists with an acquired brain injury (ABI).
What started out as a common interest group between a few HIRO clients, has stemmed into an artistic community that supports and fosters individuality and creativity. The NAC not only increases the client’s sense of community, but also provides opportunities to engage in rehabilitation goals such as socialization, scheduling, budgeting and communication.
Today, the group is comprised of artists of various disciplines; stained glass, encaustic art, beading, acrylic painting, wood burning, woodworking, photography, mixed media, plastic diecast models, ceramics, and oil painting. The NAC participates in local community initiatives such as McMaster Innovation Park exhibitions and several art crawls and shows to share their art and spread awareness of ABI.
