…the staff at [HIRO] have helped guide and empower my brother with skills to be the best new version of himself and bring new meaning to his new life. It is important work and requires special people…”
What started as a family support group in 1987, has flourished into one of the largest community-based ABI rehabilitation agencies in Ontario. When you join HIRO, you are joining a community that provides a promise of hope and a path to a more able and fulling life after an ABI.
For over 30 years, we have been committed to working with individuals with lived experiences along the road to recovery to address the challenges they face with dignity, respect and expertise. People with brain injuries can face many challenges that others take for granted every day, from memory loss to aphasia, from mental health issues to cognitive and physical disabilities.
We believe in respect for each other and the people we serve. We believe that every person with a brain injury deserves to realize their full and unique potential. If you are looking for meaningful work, if you are a team player and you are motivated to do a great job and make a difference, we encourage you to apply to be part of the HIRO team. We work together to provide person-centred care and rehabilitation for people with brain injuries to help them adapt, learn and live as independently as possible.
We are a flexible employer, with competitive compensation and benefits and we provide ongoing training and education to deliver services to culturally diverse populations. We have a number of different roles in locations in St. Catharines, Hamilton and Vineland, so there are opportunities to learn and grow with us.
As the health and well-being of our clients and staff are a top priority, HIRO has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. Employees are required to have received at least two doses of a Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccine or provide proof of medical exemption. The full policy is available on request.
HIRO values the diversity of our employees and clients; we strive to nurture an environment in which differences in culture and lived experience are understood, respected, supported and appreciated. Head Injury Rehabilitation Ontario offers accommodations for applicants with disabilities. If you are contacted for an interview, please let us know if you require accommodations during the interview process.
