Tamana Riviere (nee Hafid)

Tamana Riviere (nee Hafid) is an experienced legal counsel with a strong background in health and insurance law. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto and her Master of Science in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University. Tamana also holds a Bachelor of Health Science degree from McMaster University, graduating summa cum laude with a minor in French.

Currently, Tamana practices as a Legal Counsel for a renowned children’s hospital, where she specializes in contract review and providing legal advice on procurement, privacy and records management, copyright, intellectual property, as well as research and commercialization. With over seven years of experience as a litigator at a multinational insurance company, Tamana has gained a deep understanding of the law regarding individuals with head injuries in the civil legal system. Prior to law school, Tamana worked as a research associate in the health sector, primarily focusing on hematological cancers.

Tamana also volunteers her time with various non-profit organizations. She is fluent in English, proficient in French, intermediate in Farsi/Dari, and a beginner in Hindi and Portuguese. Tamana is also an avid acrylic painter, creating landscapes with palette knives and brushes.
